Aimhigher has been contracted to continue working on the Building Better Opportunities Programme in Phase 2 as one of the delivery partners. Our work will be a seamless continuation from Phase 1 with some new targets.
Working Progress Project Offers Holistic Support into Work
8 Northamptonshire based organisations are working together to provide holistic support to people across the county. Commsortia has partnered with the University of Northampton to deliver this £2.2 million Building Better Opportunities (BBO) project, helping people back onto the path into employment. Working Progress offers rounded support to participants, which could vary from confidence building and mentoring, to CV writing and money advice; all of which focuses on the needs of the individual.

Aimhigher in partnership with other county partner organisations are working together to provide holistic support to people across the county. The project focuses on, helping people towards the job market and paid employment. Aimhigher provides a series of employability workshops together with on-going coaching and mentoring support throughout the job search process and further support when initially starting work
The Building Better Opportunities (BBO) Working Progress Project funded by the National Lottery and the European Social Fund.
Aimhigher aims to support 132 beneficiaries during the lifetime of the project; between October 2016 and September 2019. Aimhigher works closely with local DWP offices, housing associations, leaving care workers, specialist community groups, and participates in job fairs to recruit participants.
The project beneficiaries are those who are unemployed but, particularly those with additional barriers to work, for example those with: disabilities, over 50's, BAME groups, ex-offenders, care leavers and carers wishing to return to the workplace.
The workshops include; small group work, 1:1 sessions, motivation and confidence building, personal and CV development, interview skills, job search and job application support; all focusing on individual needs and a journey into employment, ideally paid employment. Additional specialist advice is signposted and sourced from other project partners.
